YOU CAN DO IT

I went for a run yesterday evening. Yes, you read correct. WHO AM I?! My fitness regime came to a bit of a standstill after painful physio/circuit sessions but I’ve decided enough is enough. I need to keep building and try again, #nopainnogain. I hope that running will help my chronic pain and MH.

Now, I’m not gonna lie. It wasn’t as easy as just putting my running shoes on. I thought about it for WEEKS. I had a chat with my therapist and we decided on a behavioural experiment. We discussed my thoughts and predictions (the worst and the alternative). Then, I booked a date with myself deciding what I was going to do, where and when I was going to do it. I knew it was going to hurt me 100% but I also knew as challenging as it would be I would be able to do it 100% and yes, I struggled but I DID IT! πŸ’―

The run was empowering AF. I feel like I’ve caught the bug because despite the pain I’m ready to go for the next one! Moral of the story; YOU CAN DO ITπŸ’ͺ🏼πŸ’ͺ🏼
